Lebanon, PA: When Luis first walked through the doors at WEPA, he wasn’t sure where his path would lead. After being out of school for several years, he started with a pre-course that refreshed his skills and reintroduced him to an academic environment. What he did know was that he didn’t want to miss another opportunity, and with guidance from the WEPA team, he shifted from considering a CNA track to fully committing to the Medical Assistant program. Over the next six to seven months, he found not just training, but a welcoming community that pushed him to grow, encouraged him to aim higher, and helped him rediscover confidence in himself.

That dedication paid off in a major way. During his clinical rotation at a specialty site, Luis’s personality, professionalism, and work ethic made a lasting impression. When a position opened with WellSpan Health, his reputation, and the skills he built at Tec Centro Lebanon, helped him stand out. Today, he’s officially accepted a role in WellSpan’s Neurology Specialty, where he’ll support patients dealing with strokes, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other neurological conditions. For Luis, it’s more than just a job; it’s the start of a career in a field he finds meaningful, challenging, and full of room to grow.

Even better, Luis is already paying it forward. He’s encouraging friends and former coworkers to come to WEPA, explore available programs, and take the same life-changing first step he did. Being bilingual has become one of his strongest assets, especially in a community where more Spanish-speaking healthcare workers are needed every day. For Luis, this is just the beginning—of a new career, a new purpose, and a future he once wasn’t sure he could reach. Now he’s not only stepping into it confidently but helping others find their path too.
